The benefits of mindfulness and meditation have been proven time and time again, especially for it’s ability to help leave stress behind. The benefits of meditation are almost countless, although Live and Air did a pretty great job of listing a good chunk of them—76 benefits of meditation, to be exact!

Many of the benefits of meditation are linked to the mind. One study published in 2014 found that those who participated in mindfulness training were less likely to show signs of stress when faced with stressful tasks, such as test taking. In other cases, it’s been found that meditation and mindfulness can affect the body as well.

A University of Wisconsin study showed that practicing meditation could actually increase the production of anti-bodies—the proteins that help our immune system fight off harm. In just 8 weeksweeks, participants had experienced a more effective functioning immune system!

In our busy, hectic world, it can be difficult to find time for meditation, but just 20 minutes of meditation a day can make a difference in your life. There are tools out there, like Calm, that can helpful find time and guide us through meditation.
